Alumni Spotlight: Olga Anderson

  • Olga Anderson, '07, the longest tenure instructorOlga Anderson, '07, was the longest tenure instructor at the North Dakota School for the Deaf. In 1960 she retired from the school after teaching deaf students for 47 years.

     

    Anderson enrolled at the school in 1897, seven years after the school was established, and graduated in 1907. She was the first female NDSD graduate to attend and graduate from Gallaudet University (formerly Gallaudet College). Anderson graduated in 1912.

     

    Anderson returned to the North Dakota School for the Deaf in 1913 as an instructor and taught for the next 47 years.

     

    Anderson passed away on January 2, 1970.
