Brian Billman was an outstanding track and basketball player. Track – Region III long jump champion for three consecutive years (1986-88), State B long jump runner-up in 1987 and champion in 1988, State B 100 meter dash – 6th place in 1987 and 5th place in 1988. Brian was named the 1988 Outstanding State Class B meet performer. Brian is NDSD and Region III record holder in long jump at 23’ 3”. He was named 1988 Deaf American Trackman of the Year. He placed fourth in long jump at Deaflympics in New Zealand in 1989. Basketball – twice named to All District 6, Ramsey County All Tournament and Lake Conference teams. Only 6’1’’, the lanky athlete was a good blocker, rebounder and dunker.
