Gary Sagstuen was a member of the 1973 mile relay team which took second at the State B Track and Field Meet. That team holds the NDSD record of 3:32.5. He also was on the relay team which placed second in the 880 relay and sixth in the mile relay at the State Meet in 1972. Sagstuen, a versatile athlete, also led in assists on the 1972-73 basketball team.
