Norbert Brockamp was the star of the basketball teams during the years 1933-36. At a time when six feet was considered tall, Norbert was a giant of over six feet and the leading scorer of his teams. He won AAAD All-American honors in basketball in 1935. These were the days when low scoring names and cracker box gyms were the rule. With today's style of play, Norbert may have been a 25-point average game man. After graduate he played on independent teams in his home area and was on the 1941 champion team, receiving several medals. After he moved to Minneapolis, he coached the Twin Cities AAAD team which took third place in the Midwest Tournament.
